I've been recently thinking about these jump starter units (like WeeGo), but I don't know anyone who actually has or uses them, so thought I'd post it out here... do they work? Are they just more "useless" stuff on the boat? Do they hold up? Is there a brand or model that's better than the rest?
This enquiring mind would love to know.
Thanks for any info, although obviously, first hand experience is preferred.

I have owned several of them over the years and never found one that would hold up over about 18 months. They just quit holding charge I guess.

That's what I'm wondering about. Most of my quality rechargeable gear (e.g. dog training collars, weather station, etc.) eventually needs the battery cell replaced because they stop holding a charge. I figure it must be the same with these jump starters. At least there's a gauge so you can tell if it's low.
Capt. Dave, how is yours holding up?

I have a Narco, After 2 years still good. Holds a charge for over 6months, and its small and compact not much larger than a ball cap. I have it for just in case if the boat wont start on the water. And keep it for lawnmowers, ATVs, Tractors etc if they need a little boost.

Thanks, JDunk. That's sort of what I was looking for.

I’ve got a Noco gb150. Very powerful and long lasting.
